My Sweetie decided to take me away for a short weekend to Savannah, and we took Hannah along as my "companion". Isaac's taken me with him to Savannah each year on business, and this is the first year I haven't either been pregnant or had a little baby with me; so we left all three little ones with Isaac's family. Isaac had quite a bit of work to do, but Hannah and I made good use of our time there! :) Savannah truly is a beautiful city, and as you can see, we had lots of photo opportunities!

We came upon this gorgeous building (if I remember correctly it was built to be a school of some sort), and Hannah and I felt like we were walking past something out of an Elizabeth Gaskell movie.
Speaking of Elizabeth Gaskell; we've coined this our "North & South alley"
Our little home for the weekend, built for Joseph J. Dale in 1883

We spent our second day in Savannah walking around doing lots of sightseeing and shopping,
and it was quite windy and cold, so we stopped into Panera for some hot tea...
Humorously, I took a picture of Stephanie at the same telephone booth last year...
Hannah played around with my camera on the drive back and got this shot... I thought it was pretty neat!
Hannah with our dark chocolate covered Ritz crackers from River Street Sweets.... (delectable!)So, needless to say, we had quite a lot of fun. A big thank you to Isaac's family for taking such good care of the little ones for us! They had such a good time at Grandmommy's house!
The kids and I went about getting things back to normal today, despite the fact that we're all trying to get over bad cases of a cold we picked up somewhere. I got these pictures of them this morning, while they were watching a video.... you can tell they're still not back at 100% yet...

Love the pictures! You've got quite a talent with the camera! I'm totally jealous of your beautiful retreat in Savannah. The kids do look a little peaked.....so sorry. Hope to see you soon!!
It looks beautiful!! so nice that you had a "companion"
My husband is headed to Florida in April for work and as this is the first time in 6 years that I have not been pregnant or nursing, I am going with him!! I CAN'T WAIT!!
we haven't been away together, (even overnight) since we started having kids! It is definitely time for a getaway.
Julie Anne, I hope you guys have a wonderful time!! I would imagine that it will be beautiful in FL in April!
Great pictures Christie... and btw - I love your hat!
I have never been to Savannah but would love to go... it really does look beautiful.
I have never been to Savannah, but it does look like a very pretty city.
That building does look reminiscent of an Elizabeth Gaskell film, and the alley is so much like the one in N&S!
What adorable little ones you have!
I'm looking forward to meeting you, too! :D
Joyfully,
Miss Emily Rose
*grin* I have a thing for red doors too. :) I would love to collect "red door" photos. Just before we moved away from our home in Louisiana... I painted the door red. I wanted to take it with me! Ha! Now we are renting a house... so I can't paint the door. (But it's red in my head, ha!)
These pictures are just gorgeous, Christy! You are very photogenic AND a talented photographer. :o) ~Kristy
Mandy,
I would LOVE to paint our door red, but it would totally go against the look of the house! I think I'll follow your lead and paint it red in my head... *grin*
Kristy, thank you for your sweet comments! I'm blessed to have a sister who studied photography, and has been precious enough to pass on her knowledge!
