I Have a Little 4 Year Old...

Four years ago yesterday, we welcomed Jeanna Rose Weathers into the world.

Full of life, with a contagious smile, our little Rosie has brightened our lives tremendously! We named our second little girl after three special people;  My father's mother, Jeananne Johnson (one of the dearest, sweetest ladies you will ever meet!), my sister, Stephanie Jean, and my sister Esther Rose.

I rarely have time to look back through old pictures, but on birthdays I love to be reminded just how much my little ones have grown and changed!

We celebrated Jeanna's birthday with Isaac's family last night, where she very much enjoyed being the center of everyone's attention.

The cake... can you tell we're into horses right now?

Happy birthday, my little Rosie-girl! Your sweet, life-loving spirit is contagious, and you add so much joy to our lives!

Family Vacation...

Every year, my family tries to plan a family vacation at the end of September.  Two years ago, we all loaded up and spent a week at St. George's Island. This year we had thought of doing the same thing, but none of us felt like this was a good time to spend money on a family vacation... So, we packed up and headed to a local lake where my grandfather has a house.

None of us had very high aspirations for the weather, since all the forecasts were calling for rain all week, but we decided a week of games and family fellowship was worth a week in the rain. Surprisingly, it only rained on Monday and Saturday, our travel days. The other days were gloriously beautiful (we even got sunburns!).  This was very surprising due to the fact that back our way many people were experiencing severe flooding. Instead of ovewhelming blogger with an extremely large, picture heavy post, I'm just uploading a slide show of the pictures from our vacation. You can click on the pictures to view larger versions.

Fun in the Sun

Sometimes, "normal life" with little ones gets a little monotonous. We pretty generally stick to the same basic schedule every day, and though a schedule is great and necessary for us to get stuff done... I thought we could use a break from normality for a morning. So, we loaded up and headed to our local mall to play in the outdoor fountain.  The kids had a blast, and provided many smiles for people passing by!

The Beginning of a New Family

"A good wife is Heaven's last, best gift to man, his angel and minister of graces innumerable, his gem of many virtues; her voice his sweetest music, her smiles his brightest day, her kiss the guardian of his innocence, her arms the pale of his safety, the balm of his health, the sure balsam of his life; her industry his surest wealth, her economy his safest steward, her lips his faithful counselor, her bosom the softest pillow of his cares, and her prayers the ablest advocate of Heaven's blessing on his head."

Last weekend, we had the privilege of witnessing two young people from our church covenant together in marriage. (Yes, LAST weekend... it's been a busy week! *grin*) It's exciting watching the two of them... they both have a huge "head-start", even though they're young. They readily accept and implement the biblical roles of men and women, and they're both going into marriage with honest expectations of marriage and true definitions of love. It was a beautiful wedding, and the reception was absolutely gorgeous, thanks to several women in the church who all have amazing decorating skills and cooking abilities!
