Nevada Trip

So, Isaac and I are actually in the beautiful state of Nevada right now, as he had to come to Las Vegas for a business conference and he brought me along. We decided to come a few days early and make it a romantic sightseeing getaway, and thus far we've visited Hoover DamGrand Canyon West, Greggs Hideout (Lake Mead), and Valley of Fire State Park. (In that order, too!)  When I uploaded the pictures, it pulled them in reverse order, so.... without any further ado:

Fire Valley

Isaac, traversing the thick red dusty sand
(It's harder than it looks, ya'll)
Petroglyphs

Yep, that's Isaac up there!

The drive down into Valley of Fire is gorgeous!

My Man :)

Much to my joy, there was a site at the Valley of Fire with petrified logs...
The kids and I had just listed to a Jonathan Park last week that dealt with petrified logs, so this was of particular interest to me!

My man again :)

Greggs Hideout

We though this would be a great photo spot, so we hiked up...
proved to be more difficult than we had thought, because the terrain was very "pebbly"...
getting down was an adventure :)

Our view from the top...
(see? It's higher than it looked in the previous pic!)

They weren't kiddin'!
A short unplanned stop...

Love this man'o'mine! His adventurer spirit makes life SO MUCH FUN!

Grand Canyon West

Grandmommy, these are for you.
My adventurer husband is also your adventurer son! ;)

See the tippy top of the little mount in the center of the picture?
That's where we hiked to...

For this picture :)   (Check out the view in Isaac's sunglasses!)

Remnants of a historic mining tram used in the 1930s that stretched 8,800 feet across the canyon to a guano mine.

Doesn't that look like FUN?? (eek!)

Indian Sauna...

I'm so blessed by this man!

My Indian Brave

Very cool roofing :)

Have I mentioned my thankfulness for my stove and oven?

We had to step over this crevice (that was open all the way down!) in order to hop to the other side for more views

A mere foot or so and the sovereignty of God separating him from a 4,000 foot fall

Beautiful Sunsets!

Wow. What an amazing trip. Was this your first time away from Anna or did she hide away somewhere? : ) Your hair always looks great. *sigh* I think you should give a tips and pointers and this is what I do with my hair and how I fix it post. : ) I'm still thinking about the cute way you did it at the NCFIC conference.

Emily, We left her!!! I'm seriously missing my babies, but we've had a wonderful time together - it's been nice being able to just pour all of our time and energy into each other for a week.
You're very sweet :) I can't imagine that anybody would be much interested in how I do my hair, but I promise to show you next time we get together!!! (Or, if I get daring enough, maybe I'll take you up on your challenge of a post *grin*)

I can't imagine how wonderful it would be to have more than an hour or two to completely focus on my husband. : ) I will hold you to either showing me in person, which I prefer, or a post. I need some hair inspiration. I get so tired of a ponytail or bun and Zion is in the stage where he pulls it out in excitement. Of course he's been in that stage for months. I'm working on teaching him NO. : )

Emily,
Sounds like a plan to me!!! And I know all too well about that stage... ;)

The whole area looks so wild and desolate. What an adventure. Thanks for sharing it.
