Homeschooling Giveaway for Georgia Folks ;)

My friend, Mrs. Ours, over at Yes They're All Ours is hosting a giveaway for Georgia homeschoolers. She's giving away a one year subscription to homeschoolcompliance.com, an e-filing service run by a homeschool dad.

So, if you're a Georgia homeschooler, and this interests you - then head on over and enter to win. The deadline for entering is Friday, March 11!

Hey my friend. I don't live in GA so this doesn't apply to me but I do have a question. When you start officially homeschooling do y'all plan to use a covering/umbrella school or submit to the local school board?

I pray you are feeling better!!!

Love you!

Emily,
Our plans are to follow the current Georgia homeschooling laws, which are pretty good. We have to send a declaration of intent to homeschool to our local school board, as well as a monthly attendance report.

TN and Ga are pretty much the same. This year plan to unofficially do K and officially start homeschooling Maggie in 1st grade next year, IF she is ready. She is a little slow in some areas so we aren't pushing anything!

The only appeals to me about a covering later on is that it will exempt the kiddos from testing at the local school (I think that starts in 5th here) and then in High School we will have to since Jeremy nor I have a college degree.

I just wondered what you all planned to do or are dong since this all new to me. I seek those who's wisdom and lifestyle I admire and respect.

Hi Christie,

Didn't know how else to reach you but wanted to let you know that Nathaniel Darnell (from Vision Forum) will be in town on Thursday for the premiere of his new film, Jimmy Valient: Scions of Danger. It is showing at Piedmont Baptist Church (Marietta) this Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. If you or anyone you know is interested you can go to Nathaniel's blog at Persevero for more information. Some of the cast and crew will be at the screening. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you think might want to come.
It was so nice to see you and your husband at the Economics Confeence. Hope your children are all feeling better by now.
