A little Savannah get-away

Isaac just had his yearly business trip to Savannah - and while in years past I took Stephanie and Hannah, this year they're both married!  So, I talked my sweet friend Avie (and coincidentally Stephanie's new sister-in-law), into coming along to hang out with me during the days. (Since she's my sister's sister-in-law, we've decided we can claim sisterhood. *grin*) About an hour and a half into our drive, I realized that I had left my camera at home... but thankfully Isaac was trying out an iPhone for work, so he let me borrow it to snap pictures a couple of days. :)

The view from our hotel room

Kaitlyn Joy, happy to have all the attention to herself *wink*

The beautiful sidewalks of Savannah

The Owens-Thomas house, which we toured.
I was bummed that indoor photography isn't allowed -
such beautiful Regency Era architecture and decor!
AND, there's a bridge on the top floor over the stairway
connectingthe two sides of the house. Talk about a neat feature!

Sweet Avie
(short for Avonlea... isn't that gorgeous!?!)

The courtyard gardens, where we took a little photo-op

Can't tell ya'll how much I love this girl...
she's such a joy to be around!

This bush smelled absolutely amazing... but had no marker!
Any ideas on what it is??

The cemetery

Spanish moss ;)

Tybee Island!

A little photo fun...

We had planned to eat our afternoon snack on the beach,
but after we were swarmed by birds - we decided to wait ;)

We went and found "our" red telephone booth...
We've taken pictures by it with Steph and Hannah,
and now Avie :)

Hi there!

Lovely photos & lovely post!

The bush in the photo without a marker looks like a 'Daphne' bush (veriagated kind, though) and yes, how absolutley divine is the scent!!? We have one growing out the front of our home (Sydney, Australia!) and every winter I look forward to it flowering simply for the smell!

Hope that helps!
God bless, Amelia

Amelia,

Thank you!! I believe you're right! It looks like it's probably the Daphne odora 'Aureomarginata Alba'

We were captivated by the smell... truly beautiful!

How lovely to live in Australia... I've always wanted to visit - it looks like a truly beautiful country to live in.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks again for your help!

Nice photos of one of Georgia's nicest cities. Grandma W. told me she had a great time babysitting some of your crew. It looks like you had a nice time.
